Calf muscle pain
It is a common injury among a variety of people. It can be a strain, sprain, or tear.
Many people think that your calf muscles are purely located in your calves.
But that's not entirely true. Your calf muscles originate in the lower part of your thigh, in your back.
It runs down the back of your knees. It attaches to the Achilles tendon 2/3 of the way down the leg and ends at the heel bone.
Your calf muscles are made up of 2 parts: the medial and lateral parts.
Because it runs between your knee and ankle joint, its function is to bend your knee and extend your ankle.
Underneath your calf muscles, there is another muscle called the soleus. This muscle only runs in your calf and also ends in the Achilles tendon.
Calf muscle sprains, strains, or tears are usually located on the side of the calf muscle.
Calf muscle pain is caused by overuse or weakness of the calf muscles. However, excessive muscle tension can lead to calf muscle pain.
Calf muscle problems can also lead to problems with Achilles tendonitis or plantar fasciitis.
You can also speed recovery by massaging your sore calves. This will improve blood supply, which will aid in muscle repair.
